Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky will speak via video link to the European Parliament, which will meet in a special plenary session from 12:30 p.m. That is what the President of the EU Parliament, Roberta Metsola, tweeted.
“President Zelensky and Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk will participate and address the world,” Metsola said.
The extra plenary session in Brussels is entirely devoted to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the President of the European Council of Heads of Government Charles Michel will also attend.
The parliament will also vote on a resolution strongly condemning Russia’s military aggression against and invasion of Ukraine, as well as Belarus’ involvement.
The exact time when Zelensky will speak is not yet known.
