
According to the World Health Organization, the number of weekly reported corona infections worldwide is rising again for the first time since the end of January.
In the second week of March, eight percent more new cases were reported than in the week before, the WHO announced.
In total, eleven million new infections were counted. In addition, 43,000 people have died from or with Covid-19. Especially in the western part of the Pacific and in Africa, there was a marked increase every week. Europe recorded a two percent increase.
On the other hand, a declining trend has been reported in areas such as the Eastern Mediterranean, Southeast Asia and the Americas.
In total, the number of corona infections worldwide has risen to 455 million, according to the WHO. In addition, some six million deaths are associated with the disease.
