The United States wants to increase the pressure on Russia during the G7 summit in Germany, which starts on Sunday, because of the invasion of Ukraine. The White House said on Wednesday.
At the meeting of the seven major industrialized countries, the US will table “a series of concrete proposals,” a senior official said. The Americans want the G7 states again to show joint support for Kyiv.
The agenda of the summit, which lasts until Tuesday, also includes the consequences of the war on rising consumer prices and energy and food supplies.
The G7 includes Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the US. The European Union also participates in the meetings.
