If the Tokyo Olympics continue next year, the same sports venues that were reserved for this year can be used.
The housing of the athletes in the Olympic village has also been arranged, according to director Toshiro Muto of the organizing committee.
During the 136th IOC session, which was held online, Muto said that Japan has since reached an agreement with all involved locations.
The Olympics were supposed to start next week. The global sporting event has been postponed for a year due to the corona crisis.
Japan and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) are working on a “stripped-down” version of the Games. “It has to be simpler to reduce costs,” said Muto.
“We also focus on the health and safety of all participants.” The program for the Games, from July 23 to August 8, 2021, will remain virtually unchanged.
