The number of new corona infections diagnosed in Germany in the last 24 hours has decreased slightly compared to the day before.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German counterpart of the RIVM, reported 9,860 new infections on Friday morning.
On Thursday, there were 10,237 new infections, an increase of about 25 percent compared to Wednesday. The coronavirus has now been diagnosed in a total of 2,320,093 people in Germany.
In the past 24 hours, another 556 people died in Germany. This brings the total death toll in the Federal Republic to 64,191.
On Wednesday it was announced that Germany would extend the lockdown measures until at least 7 March.
There will be slight relaxation, Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel concluded with the state governments. The schools will reopen soon.
