Surinamese Parliament President Brunswijk Also Has Corona

Ronnie Brunswijk, the new president of the Surinamese parliament, is infected with the coronavirus and hospitalized. Surinamese media reported this.

 

It was previously announced that three other politicians of the intended new Surinam government coalition had been infected with the coronavirus.

These are Paul Somohardjo (PL President), Jerrel Pawiroredjo (NPS Vice President) and NPS President Gregory Russia.

The intended new president of Suriname, Chan Santokhi, is not infected, his party VHP said.

According to Surinamese media, Brunswijk is located in the intensive care department, just like Somohardjo. The other two sick politicians are in isolation at home.

So far, 535 infections with the coronavirus have been diagnosed in Suriname. Thirteen people died from the consequences.
