Significant Increase in the Number of New Corona Infections in Germany

In Germany, the number of corona infections detected in the last 24 hours has risen sharply compared to the day before.

 

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German counterpart of RIVM, reported 22,046 new cases on Thursday morning.

The usual upward trend thus continues in the week. On Wednesday the RKI reported about 17,000 new cases, Tuesday around 13,500 and Monday about 11,000 infections.

In total, the coronavirus was diagnosed in 1,106,789 people in Germany.

In the past 24 hours, another 479 people in Germany died from Covid-19. This brings the total death toll as a result of the epidemic to 17,602.
