Russian police want to question opposition leader Alexei Navalny in Germany. The Russian Ministry of the Interior has submitted a request to that effect to the German authorities.
44-year-old Alexey Navalny, a prominent critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, is in a German hospital after becoming unwell on August 20 on a flight from Siberia to Moscow.
The Russian department said on Friday that it has requested that Russian investigators be present when the German experts visit and question Navalny.
According to the German government, laboratory tests have provided “unequivocal evidence” that he was poisoned with a nerve agent from the novichok group.
