North Korea will not participate in Tokyo Olympics this coming summer, the North Korean Ministry of Sports stated.
The country declares it wants to defend its athletes in contradiction of the corona pandemic.
The decision was taken on March 25 at a meeting of the North Korean Olympic Committee, the ministry reports.
This meeting was also attended by Kim Il Guk, the country’s sports minister.
