North Korea is again installing loudspeakers that blare propaganda across the border with the South.
It is another step away from the inter-Korean peace accords, a South Korean military source said Tuesday.
Tensions between the two Koreas have escalated in recent weeks after the North blew up a joint liaison office on its side of the border, ended dialogue and threatened military action.
The DPRK army has now installed loudspeakers near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
They were removed after the two Koreas signed an agreement in 2018 to end “all hostile acts”, the military official said.
“We are also considering reinstalling our own speakers,” he said. “The North has not yet started broadcasting, but we are preparing to go against it at any time.”
