China has again imposed a strict lockdown, this time in the eastern province of Anhui. 300 new corona infections came to light there on Monday, declaring a lockdown that will affect about 1.7 million inhabitants.

The lockdown was declared in Sixian and Lingbi districts. Residents are only allowed to leave the house to be tested.

On Monday, 287 new corona infections were registered across the province. This brings the total for the province to more than 1,000 in recent days.

China has sworn by a strict “zero-covid strategy” since the start of the corona pandemic. As a result, strict measures are taken with each incident.
