Due to the rapidly increasing number of corona infections, Moscow is instituting new measures to limit the spread of the virus.
Working and studying from home becomes the starting point again.
For example, students in Moscow get a more extended autumn holiday. After their two weeks off, they have to study at home again, just like in the spring. This applies to several regions in Russia.
At companies, at least a third of employees must work from home from Monday. Employees who are older than 65 or have a chronic illness must work from home anyway.
On Sunday, more than 10,000 new corona infections were added in Russia. That was the highest number since May when the country was in lockdown.
The country is in fourth place on the world list in terms of the number of infections. More than 1.2 million Russians have contracted the virus to date.
Russia introduced a strict lockdown in the spring. A curfew was in place for two months. Shopping centres and restaurants were closed for a long time.
