British Prime Minister Theresa May has elected Jeremy Hunt as the new foreign minister on Monday evening. Hunt was formerly Minister of Health, reports Express Paper.
After the resignation of Boris Johnson, the third British minister in twenty-four hours to step out of dissatisfaction with the Brexit agreement, May was forced to rearrange her government.
Hunt, the member of the Conservatives, had been from Health since 2012 and had always defended the preservation of Great Britain in the European Union. He now succeeds Johnson as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“The Queen has approved the appointment of Jeremy Hunt as Minister of Foreign Affairs,” said May.
Hunt is in turn succeeded as Minister of Health by Matt Hancock, Minister of Culture.
