A number of larger world cities have been mapped in more detail by Google. For example, Google Maps users can now also find things like pedestrian crossings and sidewalks.
Google also shows more accurately how wide a road is in certain cities. Traffic islands are now also signposted on busy streets.
Another new feature is the display of footpaths and stairs in parks.
The new detailed view is currently only available for Central London, New York City, San Francisco and Central Tokyo.
The company has not disclosed whether Belgian cities will also receive an upgrade.
