The Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German counterpart of the RIVM, reported 3,943 new corona infections on Tuesday.
That is slightly less than on Monday, when 4,732 new infections were reported and considerably less than during the weekend.
Last weekend, 9762 and 7,890 new infections were reported on Sunday.
The German corona figures are lower just after the weekend because fewer people get tested on weekend days. Corona numbers often climb back up during the week.
The total number of confirmed infections now stands at 2,451,011. The death toll rose by 358 on Tuesday to 70,463.
