In Germany, 32 coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours. This is reported by the Robert Koch Institut (RKI), the German counterpart to RIVM.
8,613 people have died of the virus so far in the country.
The number of detected infections rose to 183,271 in Germany, an increase of 507 cases.
The so-called reproduction number, which indicates how fast the coronavirus spreads, fell from 0.71 to 0.57 in 24 hours.
That means that ten infected people infect an average of five others with the virus. This is considerably below the target number of an infection per person.
