The attack would have no impact on the company’s operations, unlike a cyberattack on another Toyota supplier a few weeks ago.
A company spokesperson said that the Denso company was the victim of a ransomware attack last week. Unknown persons have penetrated the networks of the supplier in Germany without permission.
However, no impact was felt on the company’s operation, possibly because the action was taken fairly quickly.
Denso is one of the major suppliers of parts to car manufacturer Toyota. Another supplier, Kojima Press Industry, has been the victim of a cyber attack for several weeks, forcing Toyota to close its factories for several weeks.
The attacks come on top of production problems due to chip shortages and staff cuts due to Covid-19.
