Hiroshi Sasaki, creative director of the Tokyo Olympics, has resigned. He says he decided to leave after a derogatory remark about a female entertainer.
Sasaki had said that she, Naomi Watanabe, could play a role as “Olympic”. The creative director was responsible for the opening and closing ceremonies.
In times of corona, they must have a sober character. “My comment was inappropriate,” he says now. “I sincerely apologize.”
Yoshiro Mori, the chairman of the Tokyo Olympic Games Organizing Committee, also recently resigned. That also happened after hurtful statements about women.
