Creative Commons releases Search engine for free Images. Creative Commons, a non-profit organisation that promotes the free use of original work, released its search engine with free-to-use images on Tuesday.

About three hundred million images with a Creative Commons license can be found via the search engine, which is called CC Search.

These images can be freely reused under varying conditions, such as name mentioning.

The majority appears from photo service Flickr: 289 million images on the website can be found via CC Search.

Also, the search engine primarily makes images possible through museums,

including 29,999 images from the Rijksmuseum.

Users can define their search term on different Creative Commons licenses and providers.

Ultimately, all 1.4 billion works with a license must be found in the search engine, including text and audio files.
