Police are looking for Alec Baldwin’s cell phone to investigate what happened on the Rust film set.

There, the gun in the hands of the well-known actor was not loaded with blanks but with a real bullet, as a result of which a crew member died. Investigators hope to find information on the phone, CNN reports.

According to documents released by the Santa Fe County court, actor Alec Baldwin has been asked to hand over his cell phone to the police. Since it has not happened so far, the court has signed a document to seize the device if it is found.

The investigators intend to search the phone to find all messages, call records, photos and videos and private messages on social media related to the production of the movie Rust. Any deleted photos, videos and messages will also be searched. It is not clear what they want to find out.

On October 21, camera director Halyna Hutchins was shot dead on set. The gun Alec Baldwin used to fire at her and another injured colleague should have been loaded with blanks. It is still a mystery how that real bullet ended up in the weapon. Baldwin claimed just weeks ago that he didn’t even pull the trigger but that the gun went off on its own.
